Abstract

1,204,493. Ventilators. LENSCRETE Ltd., and W. F. GOUGH. 6 Nov., 1967 [21 Nov., 1966], No. 52076/66. Heading F4V. A roof ventilator comprises a rectangular base 10, a roof, end plates 13 supporting gutters 12 and one or two side openings 18 having closure flaps 26 movable in an outward direction from the base 10 to clear the openings 18. The flaps 26 are provided with end plates which are pivoted about pins 20 fixed to gutters 12 and are urged towards their closed positions by springs 50 and may be connected for simultaneous operation. The roof of the ventilator comprises a fixed cover, a single flap pivoted at one edge about two pins 20 or, as shown, two flaps 40, pivoted about pins 20, which are urged towards their open positions by springs 22. Cords which operate the pivoted flaps may each be provided with a fusible link. In another embodiment, the flaps 26 are opened by hydraulic jacks and retracted by springs or elastic bellows fixed on the jacks.
