Abstract
1,204,176. Scavenging vessels. C. IN'T VELD. 22 Sept., 1967 [23 Sept., 1966], No. 43291/67. Heading B7A. In a barge I for the recovery of oil layers from water provided at the forward end with a skimming pan 6, the upper edge of which is approximately flush with the level 10 of the water to be treated and to which is connected a pump 7 by means of which the liquid collected in the skimming pan can be conveyed to a separating tank 2, the skimming pan 6 forms a fixed part of the barge and at the forward end has an automatically adjusting overflow. The overflow consists of one or more slides 9 floating in the liquid of the skimming pan.
