Abstract

1,204,067. Fluid actuated devices; valves. MARTONAIR Ltd. 24 March, 1969 [4 April, 1968], No. 16201/68. Heading F2V. [Also in Division F1] A fluid operated valve comprises a movable piston 2 connecting or obturating pipes 5, 6 and under the influence of pressure on each side of the piston in chambers 23, 24. This pressure is applied via restrictions 9, 10 and vented to operate the piston by lays 17, 18, normally covering the ends of pipes 15, 16. In the modification (Fig. 2, not shown) these restricted inlets are formed in the piston 22 (30, 31). Sealing pads 19, 20 prevent excessive loss of fluid after the piston has moved, by closing pipes 13, 14. In a further modification (Fig. 3, not shown) a similar piston (42) has a rod (43) attached thereto and thus transmits the motion to an unspecified device. Pipes 13, 14 may also be controlled by a solenoid operated valve (Fig. 5).
