Abstract

1,203,099. WC seat hinges. ARMITAGE WARE Ltd. 11 Nov., 1968 [11 Nov., 1967], No. 51414/67. Headings E1C and E2F. A WC seat 29 is hinged on a spindle which is axially contractible. The spindle may comprise a tube 20 with a rod 22 spring mounted therein. The spindle may have flanges 26 and 28 on each end. In use the spindle is compressed, and the ends inserted into pillars 10 and 12. The pillars may be held in position on the bowl by an expanding plug (Fig. 4 not shown).
