1,202,501. Railway vehicle brake rigging. SVENSKA AB BROMSREGULATOR. 23 Jan., 1969, No. 3851/69. Heading F2E. In a railway vehicle brake rigging a brake cylinder 2 is secured to a housing 1, a brake lever 6 is pivotally mounted in the housing and is adapted to be moved by a piston operating in the brake cylinder 2, a brake shoe 15 being adapted to apply the brake to an adjacent vehicle wheel (not shown) through an axially movable push member 14 having annular projections 12, 13 adapted to be engaged by the brake lever such that the brake lever 6 is pivotally mounted in the housing upon a bracket 7 which is adjustably fastened to the housing by means of bolts 9 so that the position of the bracket relative to the housing can be adjusted by exchanging distance pieces 10 of varying thicknesses between the housing 1 and the bracket 7 in order to adjust the ratio between the brake applying force derived from the piston and the force with which the brake is applied to the wheel. The brake lever 6 is connected to the piston through a piston-rod 4 and connecting means formed by a pivot pin 11 passing through an elongated hole in the brakelever 6 which allow the brake lever to be moved relative to the cylinder in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the cylinder. One of the annular projections (12) has protruberances 18 to be engaged by the brake lever in transmitting the brake applying force. The brake rigging may be provided in a known manner with automatic and/or manual adjustment of the slack.
