Abstract
1,202,203. Fluid oscillators. HYMATIC ENG. CO. Ltd. Oct.30, 1967 [Aug.2, 1966], No.34590/66. Heading G3H. [Also in Division F4] Pulses of gas are fed to a pulse tube refrigertor by the provision of a pure fluid logics switch between a supply of gas under pressure and the pulse tube. As illustrated the switch comprises an inlet 31 connected and the gas supply, an outlet 34 connected and atmosphere and another outlet 35 connected and the pulse tube inlet and outlet 15. A control jet 33 is connected and the warm end 16 of the pulse tube and another control jet 32 is connected to a reference pressure chamber formed between portitions having apertures 36 and 37 which communicate with the gas supply and with atmosphere. Thus the rise and fall of pressure at the warm end of the tube causes the gas supply and be switched between the outlets 34 and 35. The pulse tube inlet and outlet 15 is connected through regenerators 24 and 25 with the lever (cold) end of a tube 20 forming the pulse tube proper. Arsevoir 21 communicating with the normal gas flow path through slots 23 acts to provide thermal inertia for evening out load fluctuctions. In another embodiment, Fig.2 (not shown), the outlets 34 and 35 are connected radially and tangentially respectively to a vortex chamber (40) control jet 32 is fed from the connection of the outlet 34 and the vortex chamber.
