Abstract

1,201,788. Clamps. ELECTROVERT Inc. 6 Nov., 1967 [7 Nov., 1966], No. 50416/67. Headings E2A and E2B. A band clamp comprises a flexible elongated tongue 10 formed at one end with a frame 20 defining an aperture 34, a pawl 30 located in the aperture and formed with a nose 35, which is engageable with teeth 17 formed on the tongue to allow insertion of the tongue downwardly (as shown) through the aperture 34 but to prevent withdrawal therefrom, the nose being spaced inwardly from the exit end of the aperture to allow the tongue end to be severed flush with the exit end 24 of the frame. The frame is rectangular, Figs. 1 and 3 (not shown), and comprises end walls 21, 22 of differing heights and side walls, having inclined section 27 to join the end walls. The pawl is connected to end wall 21 by a flexible hinge portion 31. The clamp is moulded in one piece, e.g. from nylon.
