Abstract
1,201,341. Furniture joints. C. PLICHALLA. 29 Nov., 1968 [30 Aug., 1967], No. 39605/67. Heading A4H. [Also in Division B8] A framework comprises a plurality of elongated extrusions 12 of, for example, metal, e.g. aluminium, or plastics material, and at least one corner piece 13. The or each corner piece 13 is of hollow box structure and is provided in three faces 14 which lie at angles to each other with apertures 15. Further apertures 17, 20 are provided in walls of the corner piece 13 opposite the three faces 14 to allow access to the holes. The end faces of the extrusions 12 abut the faces 14 of the corner piece 13 and are secured thereto by screws 31 which project through the apertures 15. In the construction shown, the screws 31 each co-operate with a continuous recess 30 of circular section formed in an extrusion 12 an outer part of the recess being shaped such that it co-operates with locating means 21 provided on the corner piece 13. The aperture 20 has the cross-section of the interior of the corner piece 13 such that a lipped insert may be placed therein for the attachment of cover plates (Fig. 4, not shown). A partition carrying, clampable slider may be provided about the recess containing part 25 of the extrusions (Fig. 5, not shown).
