Abstract

1,200,821. Inking apparatus. GESTETNER Ltd. 31. Jan., 1969 [22 Feb., 1968], No. 8764/68. Heading B6C. A collapsible ink tube is slid laterally into an open-sided jaw integral with clamp body 7, and movement of operating lever 4 raises body 7 to abut against support 2. Ink pipe 8 is fast with support 2, and movement of body 7 forces the ink tube into engagement with pipe 8. If the ink tube is partially but not wholly inserted into the jaw, feeler 16 contacts it as lever 4 is moved. Feeler 16 may be integral with lever 4, and has a bevelled lower edge. Either the tube resists feeler 16, so that movement of lever 4 and body 7 is halted, or the bevelled lower edge of feeler 16 forces the tube fully into the jaw and movement continues. Alternatively the operating lever may actuate a separatelypivoted feeler. Inking apparatus of the above kind is stated to be suitable for use in a stencil duplicator.
