Abstract

1,200,088. Garments. KIMBERLY-CLARK CORP. 21 Sept., 1967, No. 43089/67. Heading A3V. A disposable robe for hospital use comprises a front panel 10 consisting of one or two rectangles of paper-like material and a back panel consisting of a pair of rectangles 11, 12 of the same material which are glued together along their side and top edges leaving gaps for neck and armhole openings. A slit (35), Fig. 6 not shown, extending from the centre front neck edge provides collar parts (35a and b) and a belt 15 is glued to the front panel. The neck opening is fastened at the back by a pressure-sensitive closure tab 36 on the part 12. If sleeves 13, 14 and provided each sleeve, formed by gluing two tapering panels along their longitudinal edges, is inserted between the front and a back panel with the sleeve edge aligned with the side edges of the panels (see sleeve 14 in Fig 5) and glued in the same operation as the side edges. The robe can be stored with the sleeves in this position and turned inside out by pulling the sleeves out (see sleeve 13 in Fig.5) so that the glued edges on the body of the garment are innermost for use. In a front-opening gown (Figs 10-12 not shown) the back panel consisting of two rectangles glued along their top edges at (100) where they overlap at centre back is glued as in the previous embodiment to the front panel which consists of two rectangles overlapping at centre front and turned back above a horizontal glue line to form a collar.
