Abstract

1,199,627. Casement windows; glazing. G. VARLONGA. 6 Oct., 1967 [.24 Oct., 1966], No. 45935/67. Headings E1J and E1R. In a pivotable sash of a casement window in which both sash and main frame are formed of metal members, the sash 11 is of hollow rectangular members 12 with a step 13 on one side to accommodate the pane 14 and from a peripheral seating for a resilient seal strip 16 having a part 19 which presses against the pane 14 to retain it in place in the sash and with a base part 21 which prevents metal contact between the sash 11 and main frame 1, e.g. at the flange 12a. In the case of a two operable sash window as shown, the space between the two adjacent stiles is closed by a member 24 and sealed by a transverse sealing' strip 6, 7, in an undercut groove 28 provided on the member 24.
