Abstract

1,198,449. Circuit assemblies. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 1 Aug., 1967 [10 Nov., 1966], No. 50464/66. Heading H1R. In a circuit assembly the components and wiring are mounted in slots in the insulating base member in such a manner as to be readily removable. An R.C. filter network, Fig. 1 (not shown), comprises two resistors and two capacitors, each component being located in a separate slot 3, 4, 5 &c. formed in one face of a rectangular block of foamed plastics material and the connections between the components are located in smaller slots interconnecting slots 3, 4, 5. Slot 3 is tapered towards the base so that as capacitor C1 is pushed into the slot the base is deformed and retains the capacitor in, the slot. Resistor R1 is maintained in slot 5 by a small quantity of silicone rubber or wax 9 including a hardener and inert filler. Alternatively the whole slot may be filled with silicone rubber or wax, 10, together with the slots carrying the connecting wires. The silicone rubber may be easily peeled or cut away.
