Abstract

1,198,395. Valves. CENTRO SPERIMENTALE METALLURGICO S.p.A. 12 June, 1968 [12 June, 1967], No.27891/68. Heading F2V. [Also in Divisions B1-B2] A two-way and two-position valve for use in loading steel samples into a chamber 16 through which a gas is flowing comprises stainless steel disc 30 fastened to chamber 16, and polytetrafluoroethylene disc 33 rotatable about axis 36 and having conical bore 34 and port 35. In the position shown, a carrier gas flowing into chamber 16 passes through bore 34 and valve 19. When disc 33 is rotated through 90 degrees, chamber 16 is opened to the atmosphere and the sample can be introduced into the chamber.
