Abstract
119,837. Shaw, W. R. D. May 30, 1918. Aerial machines withaerostats; aerostats; cars and cabins planes, arrangement of.- An airship comprises a girder a, a' of T-form to which are attached aerostats b, c, d. The girder is covered with fabric and serves to carry passengers, guns, &c., being fitted with a look-out a<2>, doors a<4>, and windows or gun apertures in the sides of the horizontal portion a. The rear end of the horizontal portion a extends each side of the aerostat to form a tail-plane to which elevators h are attached, the upper surface of the tailplane being fitted with windows. The part a' of the girder forms a keel, to the rear end of which the rudder g is hinged. The aerostats may be detachably connected to the girder by means of rings and safety-hooks. Land wheels a<3> are fitted as shown. Propelling.-Motors k are arranged at opposite sides of the girder portion a for driving propellers m.
