Abstract

119,778. Lyth, T. Jan. 14, 1918. Hand-bags; hold-alls.-A hand-bag or hold-all comprises a rectangular body A of knotted or knitted string &c. and a draw-cord &c. D, which is threaded through the meshes at the sides and through holes in bars C, the ends of the body A being looped upon these bars, as shown, and the ends of the cord D being tied together. Handles E are looped upon the bars and through holes therein. The article, when laid out, can be rolled up; or, by pulling on the cord D, the sides of the body A may be drawn up to bag form; and one of the handles may be passed through a recess F to enable the bag to be lifted, for carrying. The article may sometimes be made of woven material, in which case the draw-cord passes through rings, clips, &c. secured to the body part; pleats and darts may be formed to increase the capacity or to vary the shape of the body, and eyelet holes may be made in the material. The article may be used as a shopping, cricket, or other bag.
