Abstract
1,197,674. Vices. FABRYKA PRZYRZADOW I UCHWYTOW BIALYSTOK. 7 Feb., 1968 [9 Feb., 1967], No. 6163/68. Heading B3B. A vice is operated pneumatically by connecting the feed screw 3 to a piston rod 9 on which are mounted a plurality of piston members 5 which move, for a limited movement, between partitions 22 formed in the cylinder. The cylinder is formed by clamping together rings 7 and partitions 22 by means of studs 4 on the fixed part of the vice. Air ducts 17, 18 and 19 and 20, 21 allow the members 5 to be pressure operated in either direction. In operation a workpiece is initially clamped by hand operation of the handle 15 and feed screw 3, and final clamping is achieved pneumatically.
