Abstract

1,197,635. Two-part couplings. THOMAS & BETTS CORP. 20 July, 1967 [29 Aug., 1966]. No. 33398/67. Heading H2E. The rear portions of socket contacts 14 of connector 10 are electrically connected, e.g. by soldering, to the bared ends of the conductors of a pair of multiconductor flat cables 28, 30, a rigid plastics board 20 supporting the end of the cable being fixed to connector 10 by rivets 26, and a second board 42 being fixed to board 20 by rivets 50 to grip the cables and so prevent strain on the connection. The end portions of the cables are folded as indicated so that they are alongside each other at the connector. Board 42 has ribs 44 for gripping.
