Abstract

1,197,420. Implement hitch. J. C. SHANNON. 25 Feb., 1969, No. 9929/69. Heading A1P. A hitch for connecting an implement drawbar 15 to a tractor three-point draft linkage 12, 13 is characterized by a rigid frame 17, means operatively connecting the frame 17 to the draft linkage 12, 13, first coupling means pivotally connecting the drawbar 15 to the frame 17, a draft member 20 having means 21 attaching it to the drawbar 15 rearwardly of the first coupling means, and a safety coupling 22 connecting the draft member 20 to the frame 17 above the first coupling means, comprising separate parts one of which bears pry means 40 whose action separates the coupling 22 automatically on tilting the frame 17 to a predetermined angle. The members of the coupling 22 include a clevis 44 attached to the draft member 20 bearing a ball roller 39, and a supporting plate 36 having a co-operating recess 41. If the frame 17 tilts beyond the predetermined maximum a hinge pin head 40 engages an adjustable set screw 47 in a clevis plate 46 to disengage the coupling 22.
