Abstract

Chimney, globe, shade, and reflector holders.- Chimneys, globes, shades, and rereflectors are secured to their supports by means of hooks formed on resilient arms and engaging ledges on the chimneys &c. after the manner of a 'bayonet-joint. In one form, the segmental ledges 10, Fig. 1, on the outer surface of the chimney F are each formed with an inclined lower face and a cam-shaped upper face curved inwardly and downwardly. Each ledge diminishes in thickness towards one end and is provided at the other end with a stop 26, which forms with the upper face of the ledge a'pocket for the reception of the downwardly and inwardly inclined end of the corresponding hook 1. The chimney is secured by inserting it so that the hooks 1 pass upwards between the ledges, and then rotating it so that the hooks spring over the upper face into the pockets. The point of each hook is arranged so that it does not touch the periphery of the chimney. The arms A and the hooks 1 may be formed of two pieces of wire united by a crosspiece. Fig. 7 shows a modification in which the ledges 32 are formed on the inside of a shade F, and arms A of the holder are formed with bent ends H for engaging the exterior of the globe and with spring hooks 37 for engaging with the ledges 32.
