Abstract

1,196,843. Hardened photographic gelatin silver halide material. ILFORD Ltd. April 1, 1969 [April 26, 1968], No.19910/68. Heading G2C. A photographic material comprises in the inexposed and unprocessed state a support base having coated on at least one side a gelatino silver halide emulsion layer the said gelatine having been hardened by the presence of formaldehyde therein, and coated on this layer a gelatine supercoat layer which has been hardened by the presence of mucochloric acid therein. The support base is preferably a paper base having coated thereon a baryta layer. The amount of mucochloric acid present in the supercoat layer is preferably from 0À35 to 2% by weight of the gelatin present. The photographic material of the present invention is suitable for use in the production of glazed prints and exhibits a decreased tendency to produce fleck marks during the glazing process.
