Abstract

1,196,636. Serum albumin. USTAV SER A OCKOVACICH LATEK OBOROVY PODNIK. 4 Oct., 1967 [1 March, 1967], No. 45324/ 67. Heading A5B. [Also in Divisions C3] A process for the preparation of pure serum albumins from normal and haemolysted serum or plasma includes the precipitation of undesirable proteins and dyestuffs contained in the raw material by a combined denaturation action of increased temperature not exceeding 53‹C. in the presence of chloroform. In a preferred embodiment the precipitation is brought about at a pH of 4.95 to 5.05 with continuous stirring to a temperature of 50‹C., the precipitate is centrifuged, the supernatant liquid is filtered off, its pH adjusted to 6.5 to 7.0 and it is then lyophilised.
