Abstract

1,195,905. Mixing apparatus. T. MUKAI. 6 July, 1967, No. 31202/67. Heading B1C. A mixing apparatus comprises two preliminary mixing chambers 5, 5' and a homogenizing chamber 14. A hollow shaft 3 carries radial agitator arms 8, 12 which are respectively rearwardly curved to sweep materials through apertures 9, and forwardly curved to sweep them through apertures 13. The apertures 9 have shutters 11 and the walls of chamber 5 have baffles 10-adjacent-the apertures 9. The premixed materials (fall on to a slinger disk 16 carried on a coaxial shaft 2 rotated at a higher speed than the shaft 3; liquid may 'be added "through the nozzle ring 22; and further homogenization is perfonmed by passage through the rings of interdigitating pins 20, 21.
