[Also in Division B5] A table top comprises a composite body 10 with a knife edge 14 forming the periphery of the body, and a rounded surface 16 which forms part of the top surface 17, layers 18, 19 of kraft paper impregnated with a phenolic resin cover bottom and top surfaces of the body and extend beyond the knife edge as at 20, and a wood veneer sheet 21 which is formed over the rounded surface 16 across the grain. The lip formed at 20 is trimmed after heat and pressure treatment to form the wood veneer over the rounded surface 16. The composite body may be formed of wood chips and resin.
