Abstract

Laminates are made from wood veneers, pref. 0.4-2 mm thick, of controlled humidity, pref. 10%, vacuum-impregnated with resin, pref. 30% wt, degassed to 4-8% wt volatiles, stacked, pref. with some crossed plies, and then moulded and trimmed, pref. at 135-160 degrees C/16,000 kPa. The surface may subsequently be buffed. Esp. for the handles of knives, casseroles, etc.
