Abstract

1,195,367. Automatically positioned subsurface float. E.M.I. ELECTRONICS CANADA Ltd. 16 Aug., 1967 [19 Aug., 1966], No. 37147/66. Heading B7A. In a mooring device including a sub-surface float 1, a sinker 11, a cable 10 and drum 3 for paying out the cable between the float and the sinker, brakes on levers 6 regulate the length of cable paid out in response to the ambient prescure at the float so that the float may be moored at a predetermined depth below the surface, plunger 14 locks the drum 3 and cam 18, pump 20 and dash-pot 21 sense that pay-out of the cable has ceased for a pre-determined time. Rod 24 and spring 16 respond to the sensing assembly 18, 20, 21 to operate plunger 14 and so prevent further pay-out of cable. Spring 8 and bellows 9 operate the brakes on levers 6.
