Abstract

1,195,345. Tunnels &c. EDMUND NUTTALL, SONS & CO. (.LONDON) Ltd. 28 Feb., 1969, No. 10945/69. Heading E1F. A tray 15 arranged to place slabs 23 in the upper part of a tunnel lining is alternately 'pivoted about each end to erect either side of the upper part. Two crossing jacks 16 (one only of which is shown) are -pivoted to a frame at 17 and to the tray at 18. When operating the jack shown, right hand pivot pins 14 on the tray 15 slide up guide surfaces 13 and enter locating .slots ;13a. Continued movement of the jack pivots the tray through positions 15b, 15c 15d to 15a. Blind slots 24 ling shield to retain the slabs 23 when thein the tray 15 receive needles from: a tunnel tray 15 is lowered. Alternatively the slabs 23 are anchored to the preceding ring of slabs. The other jack '16 erects the reloaded tray 15 about the left hand pivot pins 14 in a similar cycle of operations. A key segment is lifted into position either .manually or by a lifting ram (not shown,). The tray 15 has sell-releasing or fixed catches at either end to locate the slabs 23. The jacks 16 are mounted in guides 19 and are detachable at either end 17, 18. The tray is parked in position 15a when not in use.
