Abstract
1,194,809. Control of A.C. motors. DANFOSS A/S. 3 Oct., 1968 [12 Oct., 1967], No. 47006/68. Heading H2J. When a main switch 4 is closed a large current flows through resistor 9 to the main winding 2 of a single-phase asynchronous motor which also has an auxiliary winding 3. A trigger diode 12 responds and triac 7 is rendered conductive for allowing current to pass to the winding 3. When the main winding current decreases, the diode 12 blocks the trigger circuit for the triac 7 which becomes non-conductive to open the circuit for the winding 3. A limiting resistor 11 may have a positive temperature coefficient. All the components, except the main switch, are contained within a capsule 13.
