Abstract
1,192,236. Door and window closure seals. INDUSTRIAL TIMBER COMPONENTS Ltd. 4 June, 1968 [8 June, 1967], No. 26406/67. Heading E1J. A window or door closure member, viz the wing 4 includes four strips 1 arranged along the periphery of the wing in edge grooves 9 three being each connected by a rivet 6 at its ends to bell-crank levers 3 pivotally mounted on a screw 8 its apex to each corner of the wing, and the fourth being attached to the adjacent strip by a screw 7 which passes freely through ithe bell-crank lever 3 so that on the operation movement of one of the strips by rotation of a bush 12, Fig. 4 through a handle inserted in recess 16, which bush has an eccentrically disposed pin 14 coupled to a strip extension 15, all the strips partake of a similar movement into or out of the respective grooves 9, to with draw from or enter into grooves 17 on three sides in the surrounding supporting frame 2. The groove 17 is lined with a resilient material having flaps 18 which engage the strips on entry. At the sill 20, an L-section strip 21-22 of resilient material is provided against which the strip 1 in the lower rail of the sash bears when it moves out of its groove 9. The strips may be of U-sectioned metal sheet sheathed with P.V.C., neoprene or rubber.
