Abstract

1,191,709. Glazing roofs and walls of glasshouses &c. ALUMIN CONSTRUCTION & ENG. Ltd. 20 Sept., 1968 [22 Sept., 1967; 19 Feb., 1968], Nos. 43358/67 and 7988/68. Heading E1R. A roof or wall structure of the kind com- "prising a plurality of sheets or 'panes of glass &c. which overlap at their upper and lower edges and are supported on aluminium alloy glazing bars 7, 8, 9, 10, 12 has the opposite side edges of the panes 1 supported by frame members 20 detachably mounted in endwise abutting relationship on the inverted T-shaped galzing bars 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, each frame member 20 including an upper channel section portion 21 receiving one side of the pane 1 and a lower longitudinally tapering glazing bar-engaging portion 18 (Fig. 5), maintained in the glazing bar channel 17 formed by ribs 16 by spring clips 19 having the end of one arm disposed 'under a lip 15 on web 10 of the glazing bar and the free end of the other arm 19 pressing on the top of the frame member 20, the said upper and dower portions being so dimensioned that when the frame members are placed end to end on the glazing bar, the overlapping portions of the panes &c. are minimally spaced from each other and from the adjacent lower and upper ends of the frame members.
