Abstract

1,191,070. Continuous coating mould. CONCAST A.G. 29 Nov., 1968, No. 56907/68. Heading B3F. A continuous casting mould comprises two pairs of oppositely disposed wall elements 8, 8<SP>1</SP> and 12, 12<SP>1</SP> held together by bolts 14, 14<SP>1</SP>, at least one beam 1 mounted externally of each of the longer wall elements 8, 8<SP>1</SP> and screws 3 mounted in the beam 1 and co-operating with the wall elements 8 and 8<SP>1</SP>. Adjustment of the screws 3 allows a bending force to be applied to the wall elements 8 and 8<SP>1</SP> to correct any distortion in the wall elements. Each wall element consists of a copper plate 7, 11 backed by a steel plate 6, 14. Cooling channels are provided in the copper plates.
