Abstract

Frame for the support and drive roll of a continuous casting plant, comprises two cross bar frames with removable tensioners at either end, which together with circular distance pieces mounted in housings attached to one of the cross bars, having keyways machined in parallel at several positions on their circumference and different distances from each other, permit the variation of the spacing between the cross bar frames for changing the roll gap. The tensioners consist of hydraulic cylinders which are connected to a common power source.
