1,189,562. Preparing perfluoropropane-2- sulphonylfluoride. J. R. GEIGY A.G. 9 July, 1968 [10 July, 1967], No. 32645/68. Heading C2C. Perfluoropropane-2-sulphonyl fluoride is prepared by reacting hexafluoropropylene and sulphuryl fluoride in the presence of a catalytic amount of fluoride ion catalyst at a temperature above 100‹ C. The amount of catalyst present is preferably at least 0À02 moles per mole of hexafluoropropylene, the preferred range being 0À02-0À30, and the preferred temperature is 150‹ C. Specified catalysts are sodium fluoride, potassium fluoride and cesium fluoride. Perfluoropropane-2-sulphonamide is prepared by reacting the product according to the invention with ammonia.
