Abstract

1,189,380. Stud and socket fasteners, clips. WARREN FASTENER CORP. 23 Aug., 1967 No. 39022/67. Addition to 1,168,266. Heading E2B. A fastener assembly comprises a support 24, a stud 22 having a body portion which projects from the support, a channel-shaped member 10 with inturned marginal flanges 12, and a clip as described in specification No. 1,168,266 accommodated within said member with its runners 16 in engagement with the flanges of said member and its catch members 42 in engagement with the body portion of the stud, the stud-having a shank portion accommodated in a hole in the support, the body portion having an annular flange 54 which abuts the support to limit penetration of the shank portion, and the shank portion including a self-tapping screw-threaded portion 52 separated from the flange of the body portion by a circumferential groove 62 of axial width less than the thickness of the support round the hole in which the shank portion is accommodated. In the construction shown the groove has an axial width less than the thickness of the support so that the screw threads are in engagement with the support.
