Abstract

1,187,528. Feeding sheets. MOTOROLA Inc. 10 Oct., 1968 [13 Nov., 1967; 29 April, 1968], No. 47993/68. Heading B8R. Sheets are separared from the bottom of a stack 101, Fig. 5, in a hopper 50, 51, 28, Fig. 2, the lower sheets first being bowed upwards by portions 38 of low friction of a cam 34 and then separated and passed through a gap 33 by either a high friction part 39 of the cam or by a pair of picker knives. The weight of the stack is relieved by complementary sloping portions 100, 102 of the walls 50, 51, which stagger the lower sheets endwise. An articulated weight 41 rests on the stack. If the hopper is removed and replaced by an apertured plate, sheets can be fed manually.
