1,186,307. Grease composition. SUN OIL CO. 17 Out., 1968. [7 Nov., 1967], No. 49197/68. Heading C5F. A grease composition comprises a major proportion of a mineral lubricating oil containing at least 40% by volume of aromatic hydrocarbons, a minor proportion of thickening agent and 0À5-10% by wt. of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer. The thickening agent may be a metallic soap, e.g. sodium stearate, lithium stearate, lithium oleate, calcium ricinoleate, calcium oleate aluminium palmitate and lead naphthenate or a complex metallic soap, e.g. aluminium benzoate stearate, aluminium palmitate toluate, calcium stearate acetate, barium oleate propionate, barium linolenate acetate and zinc stearate benzoate. Other additives present in the examples include sulphurized sperm oil, phenyl-#-naphthylamine and di-isopropoxy palmitate cyclic aluminium oxide trimer.
