[Also in Division B8] A knife for forming a tear line in cardboard or the like comprises a number of cutter blades 10 arranged in closely spaced relationship and each having relatively short cutting elements 18 provided in one of its edges and a solid resilient mass 28 e.g. of silicone rubber, encompassing the cutting edge of the knife and extending between and over the sides of the cutting elements. The cutting elements in each blade are staggered relatively to those in the blades to produce the tear line shown in Fig. 6, the material between the cuts being debossed by arranging the blank on mats 30, 32 when being cut.
