Abstract

1,183,608. Electric couplings. THOMAS & BETTS CORP. 24 May, 1967, No. 24145/67. Heading H2E. An electrical connector for joining a pair of cables comprises a body with two parallel apertured walls 11, 12 joined by a transverse wall 13, a movable L-shaped plate 16 whose ends are shaped so that they may be positioned in the non-aligned apertures 14, 15 of the walls, and a cable spacer 19 movable relative to the wall, a threaded pin 20 in the plate 16 being capable of axial movement to tightly secure cables 21, 22 in the body. The spacer 19 may be provided with serrations to grip the cables, and extended end edges 28 for overlapping engagement with one or both walls of the body. Stop members 29 may be formed in these walls to limit the movement of the spacer. The plate 16 may be pivoted at its end 18 by means of a hinge device (Fig. 2, not shown) slidably disposed through aperture 14 in wall 11.
