Abstract

Foam bath compositions comprises a foaming agent and a grease restoring agent wherein the grease restoring agent is micro-encapsulated in a film-forming material which is capable of slowly dissolving in warm water, thereby to release the grease restoring agent into the bath water over a period of time. Grease restoring agents mentioned are mineral oil; peanut oil; olive oil; isopropyl myristate, palmitate or stearate; castor oil; almond oil; St. John's wort oil; oleic acid oleyl ester; cotton seed oil or sunflower seed oil. The film-forming materials mentioned are gelatin/gum arabic mixture, gelatin/sodium alginate mixture or succinated gelatin. Other conventional additives which may be present include glycols or polyglycols, urea or urea derivatives, inorganic salts such as phosphates, carbonates or bicarbonates; organic acids such as tartaric acid or citric acid, colouring substances, anti-microbial agents and perfumes.
