Abstract

1,180,865. Microphones. WILLCO-HÍRGER€TE MEDIZINISCHE APPARATEBAU G.m.b.H. 29 April, 1968 [5 June, 1967], No. 20205/68. Heading H4J. A directional microphone for a hearing aid to be worn on the user's head, e.g. of spectacles or behind-the-ear type, has acoustic resistance in the form of a plurality of narrow passages 8 in parallel with one another in a chamber 1 through which pass the sound waves coming from a rear sound entry opening 9 to the rear surface of the diaphragm 4. The front and rear surfaces of the diaphragm 4 face a front sound entry 6 and the rear sound entry 9, respectively. The diaphragm 4 is connected to a transducer 2, e.g. of electromagnetic or piezo-electric type. The resistance may be capillary tubes of glass, metal or synthetic plastics material, stuck or sintered together. Alternatively, the resistance may be formed by a bunch of hairs or by metal or synthetic plastics material corrugated foils rolled or folded or stacked as small plates, preferably in a honeycomb arrangement.
