Abstract

1,180,319. Ethane - 1,2 - dihydrazine. FRANCE, REPUBLIC ARMY, MINISTER OF. 25 July, 1968 [31 July, 1967; 14 June, 1968], No. 35584/68. Heading C2C. Ethane-1,2-dihydrazine is prepared by treating an ethane-1,2-dihydrazine salt in suspension in an anhydrous alcohol with not more than the stoichiometric amount of a corresponding alkali metal alcoholate at ambient temperature in the presence of air or an inert gas and under agitation, separating the precipitated alkali metal salt, and removing the alcoholic solvent. Examples detail the preparation from the dihydrochloride salt using sodium propoxide/propanol or sodium methoxide/methanol.
