Abstract
1,180,018. Copper phthalocyanine dyestuffs. BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK A.G. 2 June, 1967 [3 June, 1966], No. 25566/67. Heading C4P. Copper phthalocyanines are prepared by the condensation of optionally nuclear substituted phthalic acids, anhydrides, diamides or imides with urea in inert solvents in the presence of copper compounds and catalysts, in a continuous process using one reactor or a cascade of 2-6 series-connected reactors, the residence time in relation to the total volume of the reactor or reactors being 1-30 hours, and the temperature being maintained at 120-220‹ C., and the supply of urea being distributed to at least two reactors when using more than one reactor. The catalyst may be molybdenum (VI) oxide, ammonium molybdate, molybdenum carbonyl, tungsten compounds or boric acid. The solvent may be nitrobenzene or trichlorobenzene.
