Abstract

1,179,528. Venetian blinds. LEVOLOR LORENTZEN, Inc. 13 Feb., 1968 [25 May, 1967], No. 7094/68. Heading E1J. The end of a mild steel sheet-metal head channel 10 of a Venetian blind, curtain runner &c is closed by a brace 20 having a body 21 of a length to span between the side walls 12, 13 of the channel 10 and having legs 22, 23 at the ends of the body adapted to telescope within the channel with the upper edges of the legs positioned behind the downwardly inturned flanges 12a 13a and being of such height to open the heights of the side walls and constitute struts extending from the bottom to the top of the side walls to strengthen these walls. The brace has a bendable finger 30 stiffened by an in-pressed rib, which finger may be manually bent to dispose the nose 30b closer to or further from the end of the head channel to adjustably cooperate with a mounting bracket at the end of the head channel to eliminate lost-motion between the channel and bracket and to centre the blind with respect to the window, the three sides of each leg 23 have rearwardly turned flanges.
