Abstract

'[Also in Division F4] An adjustable pivotal mounting for a vehicle lamp comprises a rod 46 adapted to be secured to the vehicle body, a shell 45 rigidly secured to the lamp and having a curved cylindrical surface with a hole 55 through which the rod extends, a cylindrical clamping member 58 disposed within the shell and mounted on the rod, an annular clamping member 56 surrounding the rod and engaging the outer surface of the shell, and a locking member 50 by means of which the shell can be clamped between the members 56, 58. The shell when released is rotatable about the axis of the cylindrical member 58 and also, together with the members 56, 58, about the axis of the rod 46. The locking member 50 is in the form of a nut which is threaded on the rod 46 and can be turned by an operating lever (52, not shown) to clamp the members 56, 58 and the shell 45 against a nut 60. The locking member is embraced by a U-shaped bracket the lower limb 34 of which has an hexagonal hole engaging a correspondingly shaped central portion 47 of the rod 46. A lower portion 48 of the rod extends through a hole in the vehicle body and is clamped in place by a nut.
