Abstract

1,178,905. Monosodium glutamate and disodium inosinate. KYOWA HAKKO KOGYO K.K. 7 April, 1967 [7 April, 1966], No. 16040/67. Heading C2C. [Also in Division A2] Mixed crystals of monosodium glutamate and disodium inosinate are prepared bymixing:c-o-ntinuously or intermittently a solution containing both monosodium glutamate and disodium inosinate with a solution of monosodium glutamate containing seed crystals thereof, and concentrating the resulting solution. The invention also provides mixed crystals of monosodium glutamate and disodium inosinate, said crystals having a substantially uniform ratio of each component. The concentration of the mixed solution is preferably effected simultaneously with the addition of the solution containing both components, and the mixed crystals formed may be cultured for from 6 to 10 hours before being harvested. The crystals are flavour-enhancing and seasoning agents.
