Abstract

An egg topper comprises in combination an egg cup 1, a cylindrical cover 5 removably and telescopically fitted over the cup 1, an abutment ring 6 fixed to the inside of the cover 5 to engage over an egg in the cup 1, a cap 29 rotatably mounted on the upper end' of the cover 5, and a knife 11 carried by the cap 29 for rotation therewith to cut around the shell of the portion of egg protruding through the ring 6. As shown, the cap 29 may be secured by a rivet 30 to a disc 28 carrying the knife 11 so that the cap 29 is inseparable from the cover 5. Alternatively (Fig. 2), a separable cap (39) has a depending cylindrical flange (32) and seats on the rim of the cover 5. The cap (39) carries a double-bladed knife (31) moulded into the cap (39). The cup 1 is free standing on an integral saucer-like base 3.
