Abstract

1,178,575. Lathe details. OERLIKON-BUHRLE HOLDING A.G. 14 April, 1967 [15 April, 1966], No. 17327/67. Heading B3T. A lathe tailstock comprises a toolhead 33 mounted to rotate in a housing 14 about an axis parallel to that of the tailstock to bring a series of tools in the toolhead into operative position on the tailstock axis, a piston 8, 10 displaceable along the tailstock axis by hydraulic pressure to effect feed movement of the toolhead and stops 16 which are adjustably mounted, e.g. on a spindle 9 connected to the toolhead and which can co-operate with an hydraulic control valve 21 . . . 24 to control the feed movements of the piston. The toolhead 33 is rotated manually and locked in each working position by a lever 38 engaging teeth of a spur wheel 37 connected to the toolhead, a hand lever being provided to disengage the lever 38. A further hand lever 28 is provided for setting the control valve for feed or return movement of the piston and toolhead, return movement being limited by a stop-ring 17 on the spindle 9.
