Abstract

1,178,277. Transistor amplifying circuits. MULLARD Ltd. 11 June, 1968 [27 June, 1967], No. 29528/67. Heading H3T. A transistor having a photo-resistive cell in its emitter circuit and a constant base voltage has its collector load capacitively connected to an amplifier stage, which input being a virtual earth. In Fig. 4, the photo-cell RC is in the emitter circuit of transistor TR1 which has a constant base voltage applied by means of UDR1 which can either be an asymmetrically voltage-dependent resistor or several diodes biased in the forward direction. A collector load is capacitively coupled to the amplifier stage DA, which has a parallel path of R5, C2, such that its input terminal A becomes a virtual earth. By means of this circuit a low frequency response is possible without a prohibitive size of capacitor.
