Abstract

1,178,221. Tilt control for a tractor mounted mower. INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO. 28 June, 1968 [28 June, 1967], No. 30925/68. Heading A1F. A mower assembly comprises a hitch member 11 for connection, e.g. to a tractor, and a cutter bar assembly 1 having rigidly attached inner and outer shoes 3, 2, the inner shoe 3 being pivotably supported by a hinge member 5 pivoted at 6 to an intermediate member 8 so that the cutter bar 1 is tiltable longitudinally about an axis parallel to that of the bar. The member 8 is pivotably mounted on the hitch 11, a shear bolt 12 passed through a lug 13 into the reouired one of a series of holes 14 in a lug 15 integral with the hitch 11, Fig. 5 (not shown), adjustably locking the members 8, 11 together such that accidental excessive stress on the cutter bar 1 causes the bolt 12 to break. A lever 21 pivoted about a pin 22 and connected to the hinge member 5 by a link arm 23 facilitates adjustment of the cutter bar tilt, a catch bolt 31 and sector plate 32 defining a series of positions, while a screw 34 passing through a slot 35 in the member 5 into the member 8 may be tightened to lock the tilt.
