Abstract

1,177,693. Electrolytic production of water of desired pH. VALMET OY. May 16, 1967 [May 17, 1966], No.22621/67. Heading C7B. The pH of boiler feed water is regulated by making the water flow in two separate streams through an electrolysis cell of known type having a cathode space and an anode space separated by a diaphragm and employing such a quantity of electricity per unit volume of water treated so that water of the desired pH is obtained from the cathode space. , Either a single supply pipe is used feeding into both electrode spaces when the diaphragm does not divide off the cell completely at the inlet end or the cell is completely divided by the diaphragm and both separate inlets or outlets are provided for each electrode space. Reference is made without detailed description of automatic regulation of the pH of the catholyte output.
