Abstract
1,177,315. Terry loom. NORTH AMERICAN ROCKWELL CORP. 9 Dec., 1968 [7 Dec., 1967], No. 58470/68. Heading D1E. The reed 22 of a terry loom is positively located for the fast and loose picks by two pairs of toggle links, one pair being aligned for each position of the reed. The reed is mounted on a shaft 15 carrying an arm 18 to which one toggle link 25 is pivoted; the other link 27 of the pair is pivoted at 29 to the slay sword 10. The other pair 32, 38 of toggle links is disposed between the slay and a point 42 on the link 27. When the links 32, 38 are aligned as shown, the toggle 25, 27 is broken and the reed is in its rear position for beating up loose picks. When the toggle 32, 38 is broken by a cam-operated rod 43, the links 25, 27 are aligned and rest against a stop 47; the reed is then in its forward position to beat up a fast pick. The coupling pin 37 of the toggle 32, 38 can be adjusted along a slot 36.
